Conveying capacity is primarily determined by three parameters: belt width, belt speed, and idler troughing angle. With a 35° troughing idler set, the BS-800 delivers approximately 50-120 t/h at 1.0 m/s, 120-250 t/h at 1.6 m/s, and 180-300 t/h at 2.0 m/s. Actual capacity is also affected by material bulk density, particle size distribution, and moisture content. Electric drum drive advantages include compact structure, small footprint, lighter overall weight, high transmission efficiency (96%+), and no exposed rotating parts for better safety. Disadvantages include limited motor cooling — oil-cooled electric drums are recommended for extreme high-temperature environments. External gear motor drive advantages include better motor cooling, easier maintenance and replacement, and suitability for higher power requirements. Disadvantages include larger footprint, more auxiliary components, and relatively higher maintenance workload. For applications up to 15 kW, electric drum drive is recommended; above 15 kW or for extreme conditions, external gear motor drive is preferred.

The inclination limit is determined by the friction coefficient between the material and the belt surface, as well as the material's natural angle of repose. When the inclination exceeds the material's angle of repose, material will slide or roll back on the belt, making stable conveying impossible. Crushed stone aggregate typically has an angle of repose of 30°-40°, but considering the effects of vibration, uneven particle size, and belt speed, a substantial safety margin is required. 18° is a proven reliable upper limit validated through extensive field experience, ensuring stable conveying of various crushed stone particle sizes. For greater elevation requirements, a horizontal-inclined composite arrangement or corrugated sidewall belt conveyor is recommended.

Belt selection considers three main factors: First, material characteristics — for sharp crushed stone, steel cord belt is recommended (excellent impact and tear resistance); for sand and fine aggregate, polyester fabric belt offers better value. Second, conveying length — for long distances (>50 m), steel cord belt is recommended for lower elongation. Third, inclination angle — for steep angles (>12°), chevron or herringbone patterned belt is recommended for increased friction. Core preventive measures include: ensuring idler set installation alignment accuracy, setting proper take-up tension, installing guide chutes at the feed point for centered material loading, and regularly inspecting and adjusting idler positions. The BS-800's standard troughing idler sets provide inherent self-centering function through their geometric constraint. For minor misalignment during operation, adjusting the deflection angle of idler sets at the corresponding location can correct it. Severe misalignment requires checking for frame deformation, pulley alignment, and belt joint offset.

Routine maintenance primarily includes: daily inspection of belt surface for cuts, tears, and edge wear; weekly check of idler rotation for smoothness and unusual noise; monthly inspection of take-up travel adequacy and belt cleaner wear; quarterly grease replenishment for electric drum bearings; semi-annual comprehensive inspection of belt joint strength and pulley lagging wear.
