For non-abrasive materials like limestone, the PF1010 is highly economical. Compression crushers (like cone types) can leave elongated, flaky shards when processing layered stone, whereas the PF1010 relies on swift impact forces to break rock evenly into a clean, cubical shape. It also features a lower initial capital cost and simpler maintenance requirements.

We standardize on premium high-chromium alloy steel (Cr26) for our PF1010 blow bars to maximize wear resistance. They are completely symmetrical and reversible, meaning that when the leading edge eventually wears down, maintenance crews can easily rotate them 180 degrees to utilize the fresh trailing edge, effectively doubling their operating lifespan.

In a typical medium-scale limestone quarry running standard 8-hour daily shifts, a premium set of Cr26 blow bars generally lasts between 3 to 5 months. Lifespan is highly dependent on feed moisture levels, particle size distribution, and ensuring that the silica content stays below the recommended threshold.

We strongly advise against using the PF1010 to crush highly abrasive stones with a silica content exceeding 5% (such as granite, quartzite, or river rock). High silica levels cause rapid abrasive wear on the high-chrome blow bars and internal linings, leading to frequent maintenance and high operational costs. A cone crusher is much better suited for those hard rock applications.

The crusher frame features an integrated hydraulic cylinder system. When maintenance is required, a manual hand pump or an electric power pack can be used to split and swing open the rear half of the housing. This gives field technicians immediate, safe, and open access to inspect the rotor, flip the blow bars, or swap out side liner blocks.
